Peace Education:
Introduction

This resource aims to:

• aid the teaching of peace education to children and young people, whether via the formal school’s curriculum schools, or through community or youth-based projects;
• help children and young people develop their understanding of the concepts of citizenship and democracy;
• develop active learning in:
  • Communication skills
  • Interpersonal & intra-personal skills
  • Critical & creative thinking skills

Peace Education can equip children and young people with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to take action that will make a difference in their own lives, their communities and the wider world.

The activities provided here can help young people and those who work with them to acquire a range of conflict resolution skills and help promote Coventry as the ‘City of Peace and Reconciliation.’
