Peace in the curriculum

The Peace Calendar suggests one event for each month of the year that can form the focus of students’ peace activity – for example, the birth of Martin Luther King in January, or the anniversary of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in August, or Human Rights Day in December.

Peace in the Curriculum provides 10 ideas of how to integrate peace into the curriculum, such as declaring the classroom a ‘peace zone’, making peace the theme of creative writing or music, and emphasising respect for different cultures and traditions in geography and history lessons.
